Frank Gardner misses out at Martini Trophy
Frank Gardner led the 1968 Martini Trophy at Silverstone for 42 laps in his Alan Mann Ford F3L.
Here he is at Becketts Corner before the Cosworth DFV engine broke a camshaft.
This handed victory to Denny Hulme in a Sid Taylor Racing Lola T70 Mk3 GT Chevrolet.
Paul Hawkins came in second in his own Ford GT40, two laps behind, while Edward Nelson was third in his Ford GT40.
See here for more of my pictures from the race, which was round six of the British Sports Car Championship.
