The 1993 British Grand Prix at Silverstone saw Damon Hill set for his first Formula 1 victory until his Williams Renault engine failed on lap 42. This handed the win to Hill's team mate, Alain Prost. Ayrton Senna was heading for third position until his McLaren ran out of fuel on the last lap, putting him in fifth place
